Collecting Sensitive Data in Wordpress?

I am in need of creating an online application form that collected a users SSN number and am therefore concerned with security.

Is this possible to do on WP with existing plugins?

My research thus far has me lead to believe that I can leverage:

• Contact Form 7 (not sending emails)


• Contact Form DB (store form data into DB)


• SSL to secure user to website connection.

This leaves me with a series of general questions:

• 1) What else would I be missing?


• 2) How can I know/test security issues?


• 3) Do I need to run the admin panel on a secure connection as well (since they would be exporting data)?


• 4) Though I have been developing in WP for years now I have never had to deal with custom sensitive data, should I leave this task to someone more experienced in securely working with data?
